| Hi there,
My name is Kathryn Watson-Maule, otherwise known as Katy Moon. The ‘moon’ part came about through my lifelong fascination with the moon and I only recently found out that this could be due to my star sign, (if you believe that sort of thing). Apparently cancer (my star sign) is ruled by the moon.
I have an HNC in Engineering, a BSc in Chemistry and have worked many and varied jobs throughout my life, including chemical research in a laboratory, Engineering in a manufacturing plant and quality control in a beer packaging plant to name a few, but the one thing that always stood out was my passion for creating beautiful things.
My creative path through childhood and into adulthood was filled with music and art. I played the violin and piano well and was awarded many distinctions for my music. The art led me to painting and sculpting with clay. The sculptures eventually grew in size and required wire to support the clay, which in turn led to me sculpting just with wire.
I loved working with metal so much that I then studied and learned silver smithing and jewellery making and eventually wire wrapping and beadwork. My music took a back seat as I perfected my skills in metal work but even now, I still pick up the fiddle for a wee jig when I need to get the creative juices flowing.
I could never settle in any job, and since my longest time in any one job was 7years, I knew that I was not doing what I was born to do. In 2004, I packed my job in for the final time and set up selling my own jewellery.
The next step came when I was preparing for my own wedding. I spent hour upon hour searching tiara websites and shops for something different and was very disappointed that I could not find what I was looking for. I finally gave up the search and got my beads and wire out and created a unique headpiece for myself. From that moment on, a new passion was born and right from the start, I wanted to design and create such a varied and unique range of accessories that everybody could find something to suit their own individual taste.
What can I say? I absolutely love my job, I can’t get enough of it, In fact I don’t really see it as a job, it’s my passion and I hope that shows in the work that I do. I truly believe that something created with joy, holds the energy of happiness and love. What more can you want for the biggest, most romantic day of your life, than to wear something that holds that kind of energy within the wires of its creation?

My business is based from my home, which is how I prefer it. I have a studio on the top floor of a three story town house where I can design and create to my hearts’ content. I see my customers on the ground floor which is set up with the full collection from the website. You can relax with a coffee and try everything on at your leisure and without pressure. I am not a sales person, I believe that if you love it you will buy it, and if you don’t, then it wasn’t meant to be.
